Back when I first joined MBClub, a member gave me a bung, stopper, cap thingy which you insert into the air intake so you can wade through a greater depth.
I recall that without it you can't wade in water deeper than the the height of the wheel arch, but with this fitted you can!
I was told that it was only available when you went on the early off-road driving course, which was bundled with every new W163 ML back then.
I was also told it was for the ML270 CDi although it may fit other W163 MLs. I've never fitted it so I can't comment on how you do it, so you'll need to work it out!
It was given to me, so I shall pass it on too, on one condition: the person who takes custody of it next must also pass it on to an MBClub member.
