Evening everyone,I have a 2012 e350 saloon and am being told I need a new air intake sensor. On looking online they vary massively in price. Can I get just the sensor or do I have to get the whole unit ?
manythanks

Depends what sensor it is. Is it the Air mass sensor?

Some you can get separately, some come with the intake pipe. ALWAYS buy genuine Mercedes for this part.

Hello cheers for that , it’s the mass air sensor so was hoping to just change the sensor if poss to save costs etc but can’t find any so probably have to buy the whole thing

cheers

Be very careful. It is an expensive part and from what I see in the forum it is changed unnecessarily many times.

Has the car been on a diagnostic computer using live data to find that it's not working correctly ? I have seen these problems before and it has been down to the wiring to the sensor causing the fault. Make sure it's checked properly before spending money on a part that you might not need. If it is the air Mass sensor at fault buy and good quality one as the cheap units don't work for long.

Cheers for this it has been put on the computer etc going to go and take it out and put it back in 🙈🤷🏻‍♂️

Air mass codes on that engine often come up when a cheap non gen air filter is fitted, the air filter is clogged or its broken up.
