Car
ml 270 cdi auto
my ml went into limp mode the other day so i took it to a garage and they put it on a diagnose machine and it came up with a fault on the air inlet valve can anyone help me by telling me waer it is and how easy it is to fix or replace please :wallbash:

I would suspect they are talking about the MAF sensor.
Did you get a fault code print out.
Did they give you a quote of how much it would cost to repair as this might give a better idea of wht is needed

I will have a look in a minute and get back to you

What model ml is the car

is the ml 270 cdi auto year late 2000 i have changed the maf i had one from a mercedes dealer

I will have to have a look at work tomorrow as my machine has just decided to throw a fit and not log into the star side of it

Sounds like the inlet port shut off has ceased working and jammed closed. The mechanism works flaps that are built into the manifold. The flaps are controlled by a motor. It will either be the motor or the flaps I suspect.

where is the moter by on the manifold is it easy to replace or could it be freed if it is stuck

Its underneath the inlet manifild and difficult to see. You really need to get it checked on some proper equipment like a Star.

ok thank for all your help both
