Hi Guys!

I need your help - I recently purchase an ML420 - I was over the moon and ive just had my stroke of bad luck !!!

The front passanger air bag burst - I was really worried - I just completed a 30 miles journey - before I left it was perfectly fine - no issues. at some point something has happened - and as soon as I got out the car I heard a hissing sound and I knew something was wrong - checked the corners and the front was going up and down and struggling to stay up - I switched off the engine straight away and I am hoping to have saved the compressor and all other components etc -

I am so gutted but what do I do now :( any cheap places to get the air suspension - so is it a single unit, easy to replace - do i need to go to a specialist if it needs to be hooked to STAR -

I am so gutted and worried that im just blurting out what comes in my head. if anyone can provide advise id be grateful.

Hi Guys,

Just got a diagnosis on the ML, its currently under repair and its 100% the air spring that faulty - I asked how it could have happened as I am quite concerned and he said well nothing i can see mechanically and that it can happen if you go on speed bumps too fast or along those lines..

Now im 26, i don't exactly drive like a granny and i certainly dont drive like I used to when I was younger so I dont see how I could have went on a speedbump that fast that it would blow - Come to think of it, that day I was advised that my aunt was critically ill in hosp, I was taking my mum, grandma and sister to the hospital and when I had to pick them up I did "fly" over around 5 speedbumps - had it in comfort mode and obviously bounced around a bit it wasnt as if I was going 30mph!

So I guess I want to confirm is this really possible! was it my fault?

Not your fault. A car like that is built for off reading and even 50mph over a bump shouldn't pose problems.

Yeah steve, my thoughts were along the same lines - can't believe the air spring went on mine though - very disappointed more than anything.

When I went out the night that the front passenger side was deflated to the floor the driver side was also lowered to half the usual and so was the rear passanger side - I am hoping there should be a problem with these and that they were just lowered either due to the leak or compensating for the lowered front
