I have a 56 plate R300L that is just about to go out of warranty! Owned by me since January. Following a trip to France in June towing a caravan of just under 1600kg in weight I noticed that the offside rear was higher than the nearside. Since then the difference can vary between 1 and 10 cm. Both sides pump up when the back is loaded and there is no common theme to when the difference in height will occur.
The car is fitted with the automatic air suspension system, there are no control switches on the dash. It has been back to the local Mercedes garage three times, they have replaced both rear sensors, told me there is no fault but it still occurs.
Can anyone advise on what the problem might be? Mercedes are emailing technical in Germany but I am not holding my breath on a result!
