AirCon fault - any ideas?

Dye has limited uses... if the leak is at the back of the radiator, it's easily missed. The guy showed me a couple of places on it where it had failed, all covered in dye, but impossible to see all when rad in situ...
 
Quick fit have the same kit other garages have?!

Big thing on wheels... They hook it up, it pulls a vacuum to evacuate the system and perform a leak test and if that passes, it recharges the system with the gas and oils.

If they brought out a canister with a valve attachment to the top that I can buy from Halfords, I'd be a bit pissed off.

Not foolproof. As mentioned in initial post, KwikFit tested the system and it detected no leak, they did it twice and their diagnostic equipment missed it. But the equipment does look very impressive, and I'm sure if all it needed was a recharge, it would have been perfect...
