HI Guys,

Five days after my car warranty runs out the aircon stops working!

The indicator in the push button is on all of the time but is very dim as is the indicator in the recirculation button.

Any ideas?

EC light on means a fault...could just need regassing, or could be a new condenser... Either way, needs to be looked at. I think also, its sensitive enough that if the pollen filter is v blocked, it will cause the light to come on...

Hi J,
Thanks for your thoughts, new filter fitted 2 months ago and while the light is on it's very dim - not like the normal off, so now a bit stuck!

Cheers,

D.

Are you sure the filter was changed.. Just because its on your invoice, doesnt mean it was....

But this is unlikely to be the problem anyway, you need to get it to a specialist..

Hi J thanks for your thoughts, however got in car this morning and every thing worked ok! So. don't know what the prob is fingers crossed that it's ok.

Have you checked the battery voltage?

Low voltage causes all sorts of weird things to happen.

Jimmy, that's a thought as I had left the car standing for about a week in the garage, so it may have just run down. I guess that once an error is flagged it won't re-set itself once on the move.

Thanks for your comment,

Cheers

If the voltage drops below a certain point then none of the ancillaries will operate, just the basics like engine, lights, indicators etc. The fan, heated screen etc will operate again once the battery voltage is back up.
