Hello everyone,

Getting an issue with the rear AC.

The driver side (i.e right) of the car is very hot; i.e the armrest, cupholder, front storing compartment and ashtray.

Have made some research and found that it might be the rear AC being set on high. But actually the rear AC does not even switch on.

Would be great to have to ideas

Thanks :)

If you haven't had the AC topped up it'll probably be that it needs refilling / regassing.

I had the same problem with my Golf blowing hot on the drivers side after some internet searching i had it refilled and that cured it.

Had this exact issue on my W203, had the AC cleaned and regassed but symptoms still occured until i asked a local merc specialist who performed the self check and vent reset, There are instructions around for different models.

On the W124, I had a similar problem some years ago, although the car did not have a/c I did have a hot passenger side, it was the temperature wheel at fault and had to be replaced.

Common issue if its low on freon, check pressures to make sure. If that's not the issue , then it could be the heater valve.
Not 100% sure which car you're talking about, W124, W210 (E55) or W211 E55.

^ As above. Car dependant, could be the heater duo valve.

Actually it is a W220 S500.

Am not sure if this model is affected by the heater duo valve issue.
