Hi folks I have a 2007 facelift E320 cdi OM642 3ltr V6.
I've had a rattle from the front of the engine for the last week or so which had been diagnosed as the tensioner, only really because it was wobbling whilst running.......it was very difficult to pinpoint where the sound was actually coming from. It was booked in to be replaced next Tuesday. Anyway, driving home from work yesterday & the aircon compressor pulley literally exploded!!!! I guess that pinpointed where the noise was coming from then
With things being a bit tight at the moment (I know, owning a Mercedes & things being tight do not belong in the same sentence, I have only owned the car for a few weeks & I can't believe the cost of parts compared to my old Mondeo ) I was hoping to temporarily bypass the a/c compressor with a shorter belt, but after hours of searching I cannot find any info on the size of belt I need. The correct belt is a 7PK2035 but as a/c was fitted as standard there is no option for a 'non a/c' car.
Has anyone on here done this & can you remember what length of belt was used please?
