Hi everybody.
I'm from France and I've a 2008 R-class 320 cdi with airmatic.
Two weeks ago my car was recalled by the dealer for an exchange of the Air matic compressor. Before that date when I start my car, this one raised up about 20 mm but since the recall, no evolution of the car height...
Is it normal ? Can anyone give me a detailled information of the level evolution in the Sport/confort. configuration depending of the car speed ?

In adition the air outlet situated in the right front aisle blow very often ...

Thanks for your help.

I have a feeling the default ride height is set by the software controlling the system. Perhaps this setting has been changed with the new pump and its just a question of getting used to it. If the suspension/ ride is working OK there's probably nothing to worry about. However it is worth reporting this to the dealer who did the work( the pump replacement) in case the software needs a reset on their diagnostic computer.
No doubt some airmatic users will be along to correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe there was previously a leak in the system. Certainly my car does not raise itself up however long I leave it (or if it does, I've not noticed it doing it unless the car is loaded up before starting).

I have a GL with airmatic. The car does not lower when left and there is no noticeable raising when the car is started.

I too have had the compressor replaced and there is no before / after difference.

Car is lowered by, I think , 15mm when in sport setting or travelling at high speed ( whatever that means).

There is sometimes a slight height adjustment when parked when , e.g., a door / tailgate is opened. I think the system is trying to make the car level with the surface it is standing on.

The compressor is just that. It's just an air pump. All the hight settings are controlled by the airmatic control unit . It gets it's hight signals from sensors attached to the suspention. If the car lifted when started before the pump was changed the I would probably think there was a leak before. It should stay at the same hight when the car is running.
