Airmatic

Being aware of the ABC & related issues that some s-classes have suffered(expensive fixes for some) & also hearing that some e-class owners have had airmatic related issues it dawned on me that as far as i can find(searching the forum/internet)the cls airmatic seems to be very reliable,does it have a different set up/parts than the s/e/ class?

I thought the cls & e class would have the same airmatic set up as the cls is based on the e platform are the problems isolated to the older models(pre 2004) because despite lots of internet searching i can't find any cls owners with airmatic that have had problems?

Hi steve ,as far as i am aware its the same throughout the years for the E, probably because there are less CLS owners compared to E you dont hear about the probs, the technology is the same so i would assume the problems are the same too !

Could be Alps,i've had my cls just over a year now & have always used all 3 settings of the airmatic every month(even if it's just a brief change in setting),i also use the raise/lower vehicle setting once a month whilst on the drive just to keep everything moving & pump working ok
