Alarm/imobiliser question

Hi guys,

Just off the phone with the guy who is fitting my new audio system. I want to change the factory bee sting antenna for one that does the DAB and GPS. The guy seems to think that the factory antenna may be used for the alarm system as well as the telephone,could do with some help here if any of you can help.

Knowing how bonkers MB electrickery can be nothing would surprise me. I have pulled the CD changer and sold it on, only to find that in doing so it killed the phone No big deal as the new kit will handle the phone. My concern is the alarm/imobiliser issue with the factory antenna.

Not sure what make or model you have but I’ve replaced a few antennas for being faulty and never had to programme or code or check alarm/immobiliser after fitting. As I recall they’re just for radio and gps.
