Alec's W216 CL 4.7 BiTurbo Project

Thanks Elliot, nice to hear from a fellow W216 owner, a V12 no less!

The turbos sound interesting, the turbos I am running are freshly built (no plans to change them!), though feel free to PM me if you want...

Good to see and hear the experiences of other C216 owners . I have a CL500 4.7TT, yr2011. It is completely as standard but I am now at the point of replacing it or keeping it...have to say , after reading this thread I am so tempted to keep it and spend a bit of money on it as I do love it . Will post more of my experiences of 3 years of ownership soon. Stay safe

Two Michelin Pilot 4s fitted yesteday to replace the Pirelli P-Zeros on the front, I have new rear PS4s to go on the rear in a few weeks.

I will be spiltting the coolant system, as per the later M157/M278. I have bought the expansion tank and most of the hoses

Thinking of new wheels, never liked the colour of the Brabus wheels - too dark. An alternative is to respray them silver or maybe even bronze?

I have found these OEM W222 S-Class wheels which might suit the car

Sugestions welcome for ideas, or something up to £1,000.

I prefer your Brabus wheels but you could consider repainting in their Platinum colour. Brabus wouldn't give me the paint code saying it was a paint specially blended for them.

My local paint shop matched it to Nissan C30

Wow! Those Monoblock F wheels are my dream wheels, sadly way out of budget! Please post more details/photos, as it is very interesting

Another couple of photos. It was factory built by Brabus and delivered to its first owner in UK in 2010. I bought it in 2014 with just 3000 kms on it.

You've done a great job on your CL :thumb:

Looks great, what sort of horsepower did Brabus get from it? I am imagine it cost quite the premium over a normal CL63!

The B63 S power gains are quite modest, around 40bhp IIRC. It's an engine re-map plus new catalytic converters and sport air filter. Doesn't sound much for £9k but you do get nice wing badges and a red engine cover  It only feels really quick when I let someone else drive it.

After being let down by tyre fitters, ect, I finally have the new wheels fitted. Though, the tyre fitters didn't balance the tyres right and in the process of taking the wheels off, they chipped the edges around the bolt holes. Balancing still isn't 100%, though better. My brand new wheels are going to need smart repair at their expense- I don't know why sometimes I bother.

On the plus side, I am very happy I made the right choice in design and finish. I found some center badges on eBay, which fitted the aftermarket wheel caps perfectly!
