Automotive Pornography....indeed !!!

More likely the boot was changed when it went to Japan at a later date, hence the facelift.

I make no apologies about the title to this thread. The car arrived, oh you just have to see it in the flesh. My knees started to tremble and my mouth went dry. Backed it off the trailer and started it up. Now the eyes are watering and the ears have become extra sensitive. Low rumble belaying the power under the hood. A deep sexual rumble. Excuse the words written, they will probably make no sense. The English Language is not enough to explain the feeling and smell of this Monster.

<quick trip to the Loo>

So what did I find under the bonnet (engine for those who are about to suggest that ) A nice big hot throbbing thing. Went to do a co2 test on the coolant and that proved negative. Gave the engine a quick tweak, as you do :D and Chris my apprentice showed me the split hose behind the engine. Parts ordered :bannana:. Tomorrow I intend to do a compression test and a leakdown test so that I can give Paddy a Health Certificate (something for his car records). I have loads of things to do to this beauty, it is going to be an absolute pleasure. I will post pictures when I have cleaned the drool off the steering wheel and bonnet, this may take some time :)

Wonders how much I am going to have to pay him for the pleasure this car will offer me ;)

Ha Ha ......are you hinting at free labour:bannana: !! I'll rent her to yourfor £20.00 per hour!.....mind you how many miles could you cover in one hour with 320 horses? Can't wait to see your pics Ian. Lets just hope its all good from here on in. You do not understand how content and relaxed I am now knowing she is in your capable hands. Talk to you tomorrow anyway!

Paddy

I'm surprised the mods have not deleted this thread. Pure filth! :p

P.S. If I come over, shall we have a drag race between that and Grav's E55?

Please don't make me take a decision on that. Both have their merits. But you will know where my heart will be.

can I drive?
NO!! it belongs at my place and until its ready (sometime next year ) I get to cuddle it.

Ian, maybe you should take a cold shower before starting work on her tomorrow.......;)

Just spoken with Ian on another matter and he had trouble getting his words out in the right order describing her.

Paddy, sounds like you had bought a CRACKING motor there - well done

matt

More filth

Today was dirty hands day. That reminds me, must get a shower before going to bed :D. This engine is .........................wonderful. I did a compression check and a leak down test on it as I had been informed that Mercedes in another part of our land had said that a head gasket had gone, Horlicks!! Did a compression check and ALL cylinders show 12 bar, no deviation, no difference, all at 12 bar :bannana::bannana:The book says min is 10 bar max is 14 bar. So looking good.

Next was a leak down test, just to be sure and that produced 30% leakage. Still good. i would have liked to see 25% but still way within tolerance.

I then went under this beauty and found that the steering box is bleeding fluid. Seals are available and ordered. I now need to remove the box and conduct a loving strip down to replace the seals.

You may find it hard to appreciate how I feel about this car in particular. If it was possible to fall in love with an inanimate object then I have. Sit behind the steering wheel and just become part of the car. It caresses you and makes you feel good. Get a good W124 and you will never regret it. Is this one good or what? AND I have not taken it out on the road yet . I cannot do that till the pipe work is sound and as usual, waiting for parts. I am also fitting EBC green stuff pads all round and green Cotton Filters. New plugs have been installed, old ones were sooty, may be down to engine not being warmed up enough or Lambda sensor iffy. Time will tell. Update next due Monday or Tuesday :D

Now where did I leave the wife :D:devil:

Oi you.
My rear tyres don't last long enough with normal driving, let alone with drag races too:rolleyes: :D

Just an update, Waiting for spare parts for the Steering Box and a Green Cotton Filter ( have one but backorder for the other ). EBC Green Stuff pads arrived today and will be fitted tomorrow, wheels cleaned (couldn't resist ;)) Brake fluid changed and engine run up to temperature and checked again. Deffo no cyl head gasket problem.

Still drooling, valeter on standby ;)

Ian is it ok to pop up and take a look, I promise not to touch :)
Sure, anytime while it is in my care but be warned, it is filth, pure unadulterated filth :D, you will want one I promise. Hands in pockets is a must

Amazing car, love the wheels only thing I would change would be some clear repeators from your Mercedes dealership.

These are really growing on me now, I can see me getting one of these.

Personally I'm not overkeen on the Brabus wheels.

What would really set it off is a set of these:-

Produce by Rial at the end of the 90's the last set was produced in 2000. I've been in touch with the factory this week and they have no old stock, no dealers with stock and will not produce any more...shame, they would be a huge seller, size is 18"x8".

The wife is divorcing me, citing an E500 as the offending party (or words to that effect) Spent quite a few hours looking and drooling at it and a few moments working on it. This is how bad it gets. Changed the pads today and then took some car polish and polished a calliper

green%20front.jpg

Then wire brushed the rear callipers

Still in a moment of automotive lust I cleaned the wheels.

Oh and bought a new gear surround and sorted out a droopy hand grab on the passengers side. Even changed the brake fluid (oh was it mankey) To add insult to injury the local machine shop owner popped in to see what all the fuss was about. quote, "its only a lump of metal with some paint slapped on it" unquote :eek::eek::eek::eek:. I was speechless. I ended up by showing him the door and asking the non believer to leave ;). He even suggested that I give Chis, my apprentice a pay rise . No no no no no, that won't happen for a while yet. Arkwright is the name, open all hours :D

I need help, please anyone, rescue me from this temptress.

I went up to Ian's to pick up some switches for my W202 project and had to, just had to have a look at the 500E. I think you've got a gorgeous (is there a word that is more complimentary than this) car there, if I had the funds and space I would buy a similar car. Ian used some terms which can't be mentioned on this forum to describe the car. I have to agree (maybe not along the same lines as Ian, but we all have addictions ;)) that it is a credit to its owner and I hope to see it at future GTGs along with its owner.

It is one car, if I owned it, would not need any modification at all, it's perfect as it is.

I am devastated. Part of my life has died. Its gone . Paddy picked it up yesterday and drove it home. Guess I will have to work on other less erotic cars now. Unless.......................................................? :D
