Hi

I need to buy a All in one printer, it won't be used a awful lot and mainly for scanning rather than printing, so ink jet is fine unless there is a great deal on a laser and I already have a laser printer.

I don't want anything too bulky as it will live in the lounge.

There are so many about these days, so was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.

Thanks

Tan

Bought a wireless HP4580 in the Xmas sales. Printer and scanner combined. Very pleased with the performance for £49 99.

I'm very pleased with my Canon MP600R....wireless too and great for photos.

Can't recommend t HP. Mine is useless, doesn't always complete printing; wireless connection keeps dropping out; have needed to un-install / reinstall several times. Take over your PC with unwanted bloatware expensive ink cartridges. Sure there is much more but can't remember right now.
Less than pleased.

I've had a HP all in one for several years and not had a single problem with it.

I have an HP PSC1215 all-in-one and it's pretty good. I've hardly used it but I only have it because my Father also owns one (bought two of them, long story ;) ) for his one-man-band business and it's been very reliable. The scanner isn't as great as a dedicated scanner, the build quality isn't amazing but it was about £80.

Printer drivers for it are about 150MB though! HOW?!

+1 for this printer. Great photos. Reasonably priced, genuine ink cartridges.

My advise though is to check out the cost of replacement cartridges.

Cheap printers are often used to lure customers. Also check out if third party cartridges are available. Not everyone wants them, but if you do, then make sure they're available.

Be careful if using this for photos on photo paper - I saw a sticker on them in Staples stating that the warranty is invalid if using photo paper...

I hadn't heard that . -here's a review of the wireless one-- you can get the wired one for about £185 I believe. Samsung CLX-3175FW Colour Laser MFP Review - Printer Reviews - TrustedReviews

For the money I don't think there's any colour laser to match it price wise?? If photo reproduction was priority one of the Canons inkjets multifunctions MP 540/550 might be a better bet but the consumables will be crippling even with generic cartridges !

PC World were doing a great offer on a wireless HP all in one for £69 odd. Easy to set up and works like a dream. Even scans wirelessly which is more than my Canon does.

Inkjet printers need to be used fairly often or else they clog and the cartridges dry up. Specially in warm centrally heated lounges and bedrooms......
As you already have a laser printer, why not just buy a dedicated scanner instead?

I use a laser printer and wouldn't go back to inkjet. But that's just my personal opinion.

The reason that I want the all in one is for the ability to do a bit of colour printing and photocopying also. The printer will be used when I work from home.

Fair dos.................but dont bin your laser.
It may come in useful one day when you find your inkjet cartridges have dried up through lack of use. :thumb:
