Hello All,

I'm in need of new tyres for my C300h S205 on the 19" multispoke wheels (225/40 Front, 255/35 rear) and was looking into All Seasons and had settled on the Pirelli Cinturato SF3 based on tyre reviews great video (Tyre Review 2024/2025 All Season), but I'm really struggle to source any decent all season tyre for the 19" rim, particularly for the fronts (225/40). I was wondering if anyone on here is running all seaons on the 19" wheel or if people have gone for seperate sets of summar/winter wheels instead (I do this on my 530d estate).

Thanks for your help!
Alan

My S204 is on original 17" staggered rims, the rears are supposed to be 245/40 but I could not find that size in an all weather tyre so ended up fitting Bridgestone 235/45's, they work well, have not upset the ABS or traction control and have made my speedo correct rather than reading 1-2mph out (according to the occasional actual speed sign on the roadside).

No correct size available in the 3 joint 2nd place tyres ?

Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Continental AllSeasonContact 2
Michelin CrossClimate 2

Separate winter/summers for me, 19" summer, 17" winter.
What summer tyres have you gone for? Looks like there is limited choice with those as well.

The Bridgestone do the front 225/40R19 but not the rear 255/35R19 (only 255/40).
The Continental AllSeason 2 don't do either.
The Michelin CC2 has the rear but not the front!

😬
Never easy is it !

You could of course have two different tyres but keep identical per axle .

Which is exactly what I have on the S204 - 225/45R17 Michelin CC's on the front, 235/45R17 Bridgestones on the rear!

Alan, welcome to MBClub.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on your specific tyre sizes however generally speaking all season tyres tend to be available in a more limited selection of sizes compared to summer tyres, and then availability can vary throughout the year, I suspect it will have been peak season recently.

Winter tyres are an option if you can find them in the right sizes, and a modern premium winter tyre will perform we’ll all year round, and so there’s no reason to switch twice every year if you don’t want to. Personally, I’d rather run winters all year round than summer tyres all year round.

If you can’t find matching tyres for front and rear then you may need to opt for different brands or different treads from the same brand. Just don’t mix summer, winter and all season tyres in the same car. Only ever fit all four summer, all four winter or all four all season.

In Southern Europe the 1st choice on premium car manufacturers tyres appears to be Perilli. The seconds choice apparently is Bridgestone. Its quite rare to see Michelin Tyres fitted to cars.

My car is fitted with 245/45/18 Michelin Primacy 4+ touring tyres that in the UK are supplied as Summer tyres. However it's my understanding that in Southern Europe the Michelin 4+ rubber mix is not really suitable for constant high temperature when the car is driven at national speed limits. The tyre is safe but the wear characteristics could be better.

That because it warm enough down south to actually get some heat into the Pirellis and make them grip.....not so much in the generally cool UK.

Agreed but the speed these Mediterranean types drove does not take long for types to warm up.
I've been to many Eu countries during summer where temp reach over 40C and found many of the cars still fitted with winter tyres, it appears some do not change and just use winters all year round.
I'm not talking about just a few, there are loads of them.

i believe that a modern good quality winter tyre used all year round has fewer compromises than a summer tyre used all year round, so if you’re only going to have one set then I’d opt for wingers.

Hi Alan.
I have a 2016 w213 e220d.
Been running it on Michelin cross climate 2 past 3 years.
I'm on my second half worn set and I wouldn't put any other tyres on it.
No road noise, fantastic in the snow with RWD. No issues with hot weather. Very small aquaplaning on heavy wet roads but probably down to speed.
I couldn't but highly recommended them.
