lol finally! They look excellent Guy.

The pedals are just the greatest: factory/oem, street legal, TUV/DOT/MOT approved, top quality, look fantastic and the best part: cheap!

I'm sorry... but anyone with a w202/w208/r170/r129/w210/w124/w203 whatever OWES themselves these pedals, they are simply stunning and the best £20 ever spent!

Has anyone done this to a CLK (208)? Are the parts numbers the same as a 202?

Cheers

Andrew

the w202 and w208 are practically the same except for some bodywork changes...

To find out for certain, try this, it will take you about 10 mins:

Pull your park brake rubber off, have a look at the back, if it says "124 427 03 82" then you need "230 430 00 84", then take your brake rubber off and if it says "123 291 00 82" then you need "170 290 01 82", then take the pin/clip out of the hinge on your gas pedal, let it spring down and take the two tall plastic nuts off that hold it to the floor. Have a look on the rubber part of it (the inner plastic part on mine has a 220 number but that's not the whole part) if it says "129 301 03 82" then you need "170 300 00 04".

simple eh?

Thats what we all thought.....thats why we all bought them.

Best be quick though before there are no more stocks in Stuttgart. Seems that loads of people here in Europe & our cousin's in the US have cottoned on to this mod and are buying them like crazy. Poor parts department in the MB factory are probably scratching their heads wondering whats going on & why so many peoples pedals are needing to be replaced.;)

The Japaneese were doing this mod a very very long time ago before the Germans, before the Americans and before us brits!

Gary,

As Shude posted earlier...

At £20 (inc VAT) for OEM MB alloy pedals you owe it to yourself and your car to get 'em  You won't be disappointed, I wasn't :bannana: The central parts bin at Milton-Keynes was emptied a long while back though, so expect a few weeks wait to get them in via Germany.

I thought I would add a little about using these pedals on a W201. The brake and clutch fit great but the gas pedal is the old W123 style which attaches differently and is longer than the SLK pedal. Here's a pic:

You can either cut down the old pedal or do what I did:
Step by step:

Remove w201 accelerator from car (pull tab at bottom)
Remove rubber pad from w201 accelerator
Turn SLK pedal over and find the three holes at the bottom.
Cut the bottom rubber vertically through the center hole
Slide cut SLK pedal pad onto w201 pedal base
Secure bottom of SLK pad on base with zip tie
Put back on car.

Here's the finished product:

damn...sometimes you wonder how a "mod" can become that popular...

I also saw pictures of the "SLK pedal mod" in a W211 and W203...looks perfect.

greetingz,

Finally got around to ordering my pedals from the dealership today.

On my way home I had a thought, will the brake and acellerator from the new (230) SL fit.

Its me just being picky but the parking brake pedal has oval black studs but the other two have round studs, however from the brochure it looks like the new SL's pedals all have oval rubber studs on all three pedals.

I just think all three pedals matching would look better.

The parts guy at my local dealership, MB Dartford was really helpfull, he took a brake pedal off an SLK in the showroom and fitted it to mine to check the fit...

This upgrade is available for 'A' class cars too! They are OE on the A210 Evolution and cost about £30 inc VAT for the set.

You're absolutely right, you would be mad not to buy a set of these. Anyone who saw me fitting the pedals at the GTG can tell you it was easy. I laugh at anyone even considering aftermarket pedals with replica Brabus stickers on...they're not even road legal and cost a fortune. Do yourselves a favour and buy the SLK pedal set, they look hot, cost no more than normal pedal rubbers, are street legal and safe to use and even your parts dept will approve!

Apart from the bloody knuckles, obviously ... and the cramp in the legs ... and the sore back ... and ...

;)

(Just about to order a set :D - my first mod :bannana: )

Cheers

lol it was easier the first time, maybe I was put off by the people watching! ;)

Im stripping my car down just now so , im getting to know things again before it goes.

I removed the sports pedals and put the old ones back in in 10 min without any lube. Just shows things get easier the more you do them.

I am just taking the hub centres out now which is taking a while as you ahve to remove the wheel to get it out and i don't want to take the chance of scratching the alloys.

ok, I'm hooked !

anyone know if these slk pedals will fit the w210 E55 ??
