Anyone got any recommendations or advise on the questions I should be asking or standards to expect?

Edinburgh area ideally.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

I used these guys: ALLOY WHEEL REPAIR HOME PAGE

They did a refurb job on a couple of alloy motorcycle wheels (to strip off the original black powdercoating and re-powder coat in silver). Only a few places will tackle motorcycle wheels as they are harder to work with.

A quick Google will show up several places in the central belt who will handle car wheels. I've no experience of car wheel refurbs, but like most things, I suspect you will get what you pay for. The more complex the job, the more it is likely to cost. A straightforward paint job will probably be easiest and cheapest. Powder coating is more durable, but will take longer and probably cost more. My experience of a powder coat finish is that the wheels turn out like new.
