I have just completed the refurbishment of my 2001 CLK coupe and one of the jobs that needing doing were the alloy wheels.

These were in a terrible state and I had even been considering replacing them with new. Having searched high and low for a company that actually refurb wheels properly, I came across Wicked Wheels in Guildford, Surrey (on the Slyfield Industrial Estate).

They need the wheels for about 4 days, but lent me a set of MB wheels while they had them. Tyres off, balance weights off, blasted, polished, painted OEM colour and lacquered. Tyres back on, wheels balanced and refitted to the car (even used copper slip on the bolts).

They did a fantastic job and charged less than £300 for the set.

Yes i have used Keven and James fop many years and also highly recommend them.

Copper grease on bolts? There is really no need.

I'm not mechanical in any way, but having once been completely unable to remove a bolt using the supplied wrench at the side of the road while changing a flat tyre, I think putting grease on the bolts is a great idea ;-)
