W212 - E-Estate 220CDI Bluefficiency
Barely 2k miles on the clock and my brand new E-estate (W212) has already got a couple of scratches on the rear bumper! My wife (typically!!) reversed into the neighbour's BMW causing several dents into the plastic bumper (two of which have gone into the plastic quite significantly) and loss of paint due to scratches here and there. One side of the bumper has also slightly gone off its joint but I believe that it would easily be put back into place with a bit of lateral thinking.

I would be most grateful if anyone could advise as to what I should do, send it to MB for repair or fish around for quotes from local bodywork specialists or anything else.

I would be happy to provide pictures is required.

Many thanks for your valuable assistance,

Cheers

Alex

I feel your pain.

My wife had a Seat Cordoba...not a particularly big car. But she always said she'd like something bigger...after a couple of years of this and several "accidents" I said..."you started with something bigger...stop banging into things".

Where abouts are you? If your anywhere near Camberley,Surrey I could take a look:thumb:

You're being too soft with her!

After calling my Wife outside to show her my (our) shinny new 19" AMG wheels c/w with rubber bands I then proceeded to inform her that Divorce would ensue should she so much as scratch them whilst driving it!

Seemed to have worked so far but now she wants a BMW X5 for 'running around in' so she doesn't have to worry about Kerb Rash constantly!

Would be cheaper to let her wreck em!

I once told my other half that if she kerbed my shiny new rims I wouldnt let her eat for a month.....

I then proceeded to drive both nearside alloys down a particularly high kerb in Leeds....

She thoroughly enjoyed asking me if I wasnt going to eat for a month!

I'd certainly get rid. The older they get the harder they are to shift and unfortunately they don't get better with age in fact they get worse and so will your headaches.

As for the car I'd take it to a good bodyshop, much cheaper and possibly better than MB
