B class W246
Just bought the good lady a lovely little W246 B class 180 blue efficiency automatic, 2013 plate

She loves the car but after driving my BMW 2 series active tourer she prefers my BMW seats as the base unit can be extended under her thighs, and that the seats seems to provide her with better support all round.

I am aware that the W246 seat mounts are different from the W245 and W247 variants of the B class, so does anyone have any experience of fitting either a different Mercedes model of seat that provides more wrap around and under thigh support? or a list of aftermarket seats that have the same mounts as the OEM seats.

Cheers in advance all

You’ve just got it, take some time to get used to it?

Hi Colin,

appreciate the reply, shows at least that someone is looking.

But i still want to know if there any other seating options, its not about "getting used to it" but more about "making it more comfortable", personally i like the seats, even with my arthritic hips, but the good lady wants something different, so what she wants..............

So, does anyone other than Colin know if any other seats are a direct fit into the W246 chasis seat mount holes?

I believe there isn't much difference between the A class and B class, so I'd love to know if the seats are interchangeable as there are plenty to chose from on eBay etc that look like they'd be more suitable for my wife's comfort in her car.

🙄

There is probably little to no experience of what you are asking. Did your wife not try the car before it was bought?

Changing a seat will be possible, pretty much anything is if you spend enough money but I would be talking to a car trimmer /upholstery specialist first as I am sure they could make / adapt the current seat to provide more suitable support.

Aftermarket seats tend to come with subframe kits to adapt the seat to the car - although whether any of them do a kit for a B Class I don't know.
The issue with fitting seats of any variety to your wife's car won't just be whether they physically fit, but also the question of side airbags and seat belt receiver placement.

Exceptional idea, thank you very much 👍

Some of the later W246s had seats with extendable thigh supports but not sure which models.
I've heard of them, just need to see if I can source them 👍
