alternator problem c270 cdi

hi all,i have a mercedes c270 cdi ,51 reg,my alternator has packed in,is it possible to get this unit reconditioned,also does anybody know where i can get repaired in cardiff or south wales area

has it packed in or the pulley came off? pulley problems are common and u can get replacement pulley for approx £45

Alternator sorted now thank's,,it was the pulley,had problem starting the car today,started fine at 8am,at 1pm would not turn over had to jump start,checked battery and alternator both working and charging,any idea what might be now

door module, electric seat module or comand sat nav are the favourites for a battery drain.

You cant guess, you need a dealer or a good indi to measure the current drain on every circuit.

spot on with door mod,found a merc man in penarth (top guy really helpfull with all the merc gear)who found prob in 10 mins,hopefully will be sorted soon.

now found out it is seat module,garage cannot do till next week,if i disconnect seat or take out fuse will this stop my battery drain ?
