Hi all,

Well in the lock down iv been doing a few jobs, one was to change the serpentine belt with the idler pulleys.
Had a quick feel for the others and found that spinning the alternator pulley and holding it to a stop, you can feel the shaft inside still moving.

Can i presume this is not normal, and is it simple to change this pulley?

Thanks

Elliott

Well yes as long as it hasn't gone notchy. I did my belt and pulleys a while back, for the sake of £30.00 ish I did the alternator pulley and then decided to do the water pump while I had the thing in bits. A bit belt and braces, but there you go. You do need tooling to lock the alternator spindle so you can undo the pulley.
