wow I still cant believe i am enjoying driving something this cheap !
I have had lots of cars over £30k new merc convertibles, porsches, a corvette, tt , beemers etc, but im loving this ,I am also used to classics one of my other vehicles is a 1964 VW splitscreen samba campervan , I previously ownes the previous shape 280SL pagoda which was a lovely vehicle too
The point is recently new car prices are in freefall so instead of loosing shedloads of cash I decided to get another classic to use as main car but a modern one , after the pagoda I instantly thought of the next shape I drove a few dogs but find a good one and the feel good factor is excllent this car had done 123000 miles and drives like new! one owner with full mercedes history perfect interior, body looks great apart from a couple of small bubbles, but this one steering works hardly any body roll, just feels tight , I have 2 others cars to use and a motorbike but this will be my main one , no depreciation feels solid and modern with classic style!
I cant recomend it enough and its one of the last so I understand registered 01,08, 1989

Good for you and know what you are saying - it did however make me think how relative everything is - to some people this would not be a credit crunch buster - £5k and a large petrol engine would be something to be aspired to in good times!

come on guys - he has just come on to show off his new pride and joy... which looks great from what i can see and read.

i really want one of these as a 2nd car - i drove Druk's at the weekend and it was really good. (even though it felt a bit like a Saab to me ;) )

What's the obsession with blanking number plates?

After all you're driving around daily with your number plate on display for all to see.......

It'd be different if you posted our number plate on your car, outside of your house displaying your complete address with a copy of your drivers license clearly shown on the bonnet and a bank statement... :D

Think the plates alone are harmless imo.. :)

    Nice car by the way!

I think it's down to the easy accessability of the internet and cloning.

i.e. you want to clone a green 280SL so do you drive around waiting to see one on the road or do you spend 5 mins on google?

    Hello

Has the poster taken a huge picture and its been scaled to fit the web?

    Either way welcome.

Wouldn't worry about your plate on show really? As mentioned its on show to the world almost everyday.

If you can take some more (smaller) pictures so we can see the full car, glad your enjoying it.

It looks in really nice condition, and a really late one.

What engine size is it ?

quick question are you meant to hear the fuel pump constantly? is it a quirk of the car or do i have a noisy pump?
