Amazing value 229.1 spec oil at ECP

Having just bought all the parts I need to service my w124 from ECP I thought it was worth mentioning that ECP are currently selling Petronas Syntium 1000 10w/40 fully synthetic oil at £12.59 for 4 litres, which works out at £8.69 for 4 litres with the current 31% discount. It's been a long time since I've bought fully synth oil that cheap.

ECP seem to get a bit of stick on here and I thought it worthy of mention as a great deal, especially when delivery is included.

Good find. I bought some for my CE - 10w40 synthetic is ideal for m104.

I seriously doubt that the oil you describe is "synthetic" as understood by the majority of today's car owners. It meets MB 229.1 which is a pretty old spec by today's standards. While suitable for older models as you say people should not be deceived into thinking this is a cheap fully synthetic oil. I notice in some of Petronas promotional material its referred to as " synthetically produced" which is not quite the same thing. Sorry.
