Ambient lighting

Good morning, I have a 2017 E220d and occasionally when getting in the car at the end of the day after work or first thing in the morning the ambient lighting isn’t working, is there a setting that might be wrong somewhere that will fix this please?

Is welcome lighting switched on in the ambient lighting settings?

Yes and I’ve altered the timings on it too but it’s made no difference !

Shame there isn't a MDB tech that could answer this question. I can just imagine the bill taking it to a main dealer and it not being a simple setting. I once took a BMW 635CSi to the main dealer due to a gearbox issue. They spent 12 hours to tell me they think the wiring look needs changing but due to having oil on the wiring they cannot be sure that is the fault and the work would fix the issue. 12 hours of work to still have the issue was painful.
