The beauty of these w124 500E's is the huge range of wheels they can accept...widths from 8J to 11J and offsets of 10mm to 35mm.....i'm not aware of any other stock MB that can take such a broad range of wheel widths and offsets without modification or spacers !
The black 500E was wearing the AMG Aero I's, and before that the OZ Futuras....but i read an article recently on a Renntech 6.0 500E...that car wore the 3-piece AMGs by OZ Racing (commonly found on the w126 and r129)...albeit this Renntech car had 8.5J's all round rather than the usual staggered set-up of 8.5J front and 10J rear.
I had a spare set of these 3-piece beauties...so took them apart, got the dishes refurbed, got the centres finished in MB color code 040 (which is what the car is ) and used a set of OZ fasteners i had gold plated a while back.
Turned out beautifully.....basically gives the Aero I look but with bigger dishes and with those little jewel fasteners the icing on the cake.
