Anyone any good getting MB part numbers?

I've lost the rhs (drivers) lower grill piece from the W210 AMG front bumper. I knew it was loose as some of the tabs were weak but it was so loose it's fallen off :(

The grill piece is a push fit and covers up the towing eye behind the bumper.

Thanks in advance

Your car must be a twin to mine because I have an W210 E36 missing a tow-eye cover too! I looked on the net and found this should be the correct part number HWA2108850126. Had a quote from MB dealer, not cheap for a piece of molded plastic, around £100 unpainted! If you can source a cheaper one elsewhere, i.e. US, let me know too!

Hay another E36 owner  Have you just bought your car or had it a while? Bought mine from Birmingham 3 weeks ago, so far very pleased with it.

Thanks for the part number, that's a bit pricey isn't it, I'll be trawling ebay and that first I think before forking out for a new one. Anything stamped AMG is going to cost a pretty penny I've concluded

Thanks for your reply, if I come across anything I'll let you know

I have had it for a few years now, it is very comfortable, i know it is not as fast as its bigger brother like the E55 but it is fast enough for me! gonna be doing some work on it like engine mounts and some rust on arches, should be fun, or not!

Yeah I agree, it's not like take your breathe away fast but plenty quick enough. I noticed on a M4 trip over the weekend that nothing had passed me for a while then I clocked the speed I was doing  so I backed off a bit and set the cruise control. So comfortable and stable at speed you notice it.

Have you noticed any rust forming in the front subframe? Above where the under tray fits on? Mines starting to go and I wondering whether I should patch weld it or replace the subframe?

Good luck with the arches, mine look quite healthy but I think they've had work in the past as I can see some orange peel in the paint especially on the n/s wing, it's not bad and I can live with it. Intend to give the wheel arch lips a good clean out and get inthere with WaxOyl or some such preserver probably over the Easter break weather permitting.

yes the rust is really putting me off my E36, I haven't check the sub-frames but i am worried there may be rust there too, reading from the forum rust is pretty common on the w210, it is making me wanting to sell it and get a W124 E coupe, the green one on the other thread looks stunning!

Jukie is selling his 124 coupe, I was considering going for it when my local Merc Indy garage pointed this E36 out.

The 124's are better built but my Indy has seen older ones rusting in the boot floor and rear inner wing areas, panels are available. The front wings are notorious rusters but they can be repalced simply

I've always liked the 2 door W124, looking at this months Merc Enthusiast I like the look of the old SEC too.
