AMG C63
Afternoon Gents,

The current black alloys on my AMG C63 are currently peeling all over (and kerbed). I'm looking to getting a new set but not wantin to pay mental prices.

I've seen a set on Ebay "X4 19" C63 ALLOY WHEELS BLACK SERIES MERCEDES C CLASS W204 AMG SPORT COUPE 5x112 " for £650. These are the bare alloys with no tyres etc.

Just looking for opinions on these and any other info. I believe the alloys have sensors...can these be remvoed from my old alloys and onto the new ones as a straight swap?

Cheers,

Amateur Buyer :p

There was a member on here a week ago selling his C43 alloys & tyres that where only six weeks old. Not sure if he sold them.

I'll try and post the link

Ant.

This are copies - why not refurb your ones?

Sounds lazy but the effort to go and get 4 spare wheels to use whilst they are being refurbed and the cost of the actual refurb I could just get the new copies.....hmmm...

I would NOT put copies on your C63.

19x8 front and 19x9 rear, good luck fitting a wide tyre on them I can't see a 9 fitting more than a 265 on the rear.

Folks,

The car is going in tomorrow to an alloy wheel refurb specialist (who are almost next to my new work :)) who have previously done C63 alloys. Apparently they can take them back to new. Going in for a chat tomorrow about price etc, I'll stick up a further post tomorrow after I've been down.

Thanks for all the comments.

Good decision as replicas can be a bit of a gamble.
Some are good while others crack.

Yeah definitely I'm living proof of that I cracked the original Mercedes wheel (my own fault) and wanted 19"s anyway so i found some aftermarket wheels with tyres for £800 and there ****! Cracked twice I'm currently working up the bolluks to buy some vossens lol. Oem or a good company anyway for wheels especially.

Diamond cut takes 3 days at the refurbers near me and is £105 a wheel.

Or they will blast and powder coat in any colour for £45 a wheel..

Refurb all the way..

Thanks for all the comments folks!

The original alloys are going in to get refurbished. Diamond cut around the silver rims, and the black alloy gets dipped then coated apparently. I'm have the option of the normal Matt black finish or a gloss finish, which I think looks pretty good. This will take around 3 days and the total damage is £800....including VAT lol!!

Its being dropped off in 3 weeks time, after I return from Magaluf, where I will spend the alloy cash on cocktails and stripppers....joke :)

Thanks again!!!

Great outcome there, and a holiday too. Hope to see some before & after pics. (Of the wheels, not you :D)

Haha tell me about it Allan, I live in Aberdeen, nothing is cheap up here.

Very nice alloys btw, surprised they havn't sold quick style. Mines will be done the same except I'll still have the silver rim will be kept :) !!!
