AMG Factory and Alpine Tour

We did have a helicopter escort in Belgium...

strange one that?, either we were being tracked or the pilot could not navigate and was following the road to the local airport, i don't recall chris's hi-tech stealth monitoring electronics kicking in.

I think we were just being observed... don't think they were tracking our speed as such...

or just a lost pilot :D

he never had roof sensors fitted ...Told him so! :D

Looks like you're on an eco run...trying to hit 30mpg?!
Funny you mention that

One of the facts we were given at the AMG factory was that the M157 engine is the world's most fuel efficient V8 (in terms of brake specific fuel consumption).

In like-for-like driving on the trip this was really noticeable in comparison to the M156 and 55K cars where I was getting easily 25% more miles from every gallon - I was even asked by the petrol station's best friends (Ash and Don) if I ever had to fill my car up :D

Worst consumption recorded for the whole trip by my W212 Biturbo was 21mpg on the leg from Affalterbach to Lindau which included lots of full throttle runs up to 140+ mph when the traffic temporarily cleared on the more congested sections, fairly long cruising periods at 125 - 130mph and a couple of blasts at 160+ mph.

Just in case you're interested :p :ban:
