Something like £180 if you pay for the year. Remarkable really, it was more in the first five years though. Makes a 2006 SLK look expensive at £700

You forgot this. It's £180 if registered after 1/4/2017

Figure shown includes additional rate of £390 (per year) or £214.50 (per half year) levied on cars registered after April 1 2017 with a list price over £40,000. The additional rate is only applied for the first five years that road tax is renewed; renewals after that incur the standard rate for the car's fuel type.
