Amg gts or gen 1 r8 v10plus ??

I know this is a merc forum but as unbiased opinion as possible please, I've had an a45 before so do love mercs. Sold my r35 gtr around 5 months ago and been looking for a replacement since ! I've narrowed down my options to a gen 1 r8 v10plus or a 16 plate amg gts. Which do you think I would I prefere? Both similar money and miles but the merc would probs be a bit newer for the price range. It a not for a daily only for a fun/weekend car , residuals are also quite important to me. I know it's potentially childish but I do like a loud car with lots of drama if that makes sense and my gtr was straight piped with around 670hp . Any info or reccomemdations ?

I prefer the R8 out of that choice - especially the V10 with an Akropovic.

For me the AMG is not special enough sadly - too "meh".

I did some races with a R8 V10 back in 2013, not without success, so I would be a little biased

Hard to say what you'd enjoy as everyone is different.

Personally I love the AMG GT and have never really taken much of a shine to the R8. If I was you OP, I'd have to drive both and see which one really did it for me, you're clearly unbiased which is the best way to be when looking for a new car so it'll all be about what they're like in the metal.

Great choice to have....

For me it would be the AMG GT as it looks fresher. No doubt the R8 V10 plus is an absolute beast, but if I had been in a position to buy one then it would have been 2-3 years ago.
