1998 C180 estate
I have a '98 C180 estate with the standard 15" elegance alloys.

The wheels could do with blasting and recoating, so I was toying with the idea of replacing them with other wheels.

I like the look of the AMG wheels (a la C43), but I don't really want to compromise ride quality that much.

I've seen 15" AMG wheels on ebay which I assume will fit, but I am confused about the part numbers. The wheels appear to be the same (to me) but are they?

Part numbers seem to be 2024010902, 202400 0202

Can anyone shed any light on this??

Just looked on my EPC and as you suspect they are the same. Both listed as 15 inch 6 1/2J X 15 H2 (195x65)

Thanks for the speedy answer Ian!

I thought they were mighty similar, but as a newcomer to MB I figured I should check first.

Cheers.

Sorry whats an EPC? if its like a huge list of part numbers where can one obtain such a publication?

I hesitate to answer in Ian's behalf, but I understand EPC to mean Electronic Parts Catalogue - i.e. a parts book on computer.

I guess these things are probably to be had on ebay. I once had a Land Rover one, but it was such a nightmare getting it running I gave up and bought the paper parts book from the dealer instead.

Quite right. EPC is the M-B parts system and WIS is the workshop information system. They are both internal Daimler-Chrysler systems, but copies are sold on Ebay all the time. They are quite fiddly to install on a standalone PC. Apparently ;)

There are two versions available:
FA/RA: 7J x 15 ET 37 up to 09/95 "Monoblock" HWA2024000202 B66020082
FA/RA: 7J x 15 ET 37 from 09/95 "Monoblock" B66031002

Top one is more expensive - may have originally come in Sterling Silver or with high sheen rim edge..

There are two different types of 15" wheel, if you look closely the holes are a slightly different shape, so you need to be carefull buying odd ones....
