AMG service and specialist recommendation

Hi eveyone, Newbie here.

Recently bought an 2019 AMG GTC and based in the Cotswold area. Intend to renew the Mercedes Service plan to keep the service history, but any Manufacturer garages can be recommended? Heard of Beaconsfield Mercedes is quite good many moons ago? Also any recommended AMG Specialists for any big repair - willing to travel if necessary?

I can’t recommend a main dealer in your area - especially because the Cotswolds is quite a large area - however most main dealers will be able to service your car without a problem. I know an AMG GT owner who uses Stratford upon Avon if you’re to the North. If you’re to the South East then Brooklands might be a good option.

I always use Brooklands, mainly because they run all the AMG driving courses there, so "should" be more knowledgeable on servicing AMG's due to the amount they see in the workshops
Also a few people I know are using the new Rigor Mercedes in Heathrow who will give a discount if you are a TeamAMG member

Yes really please with the car. The theatrical feeling that the AMG offers cannot be found in the Porsche. Thank you for the response. So where do people go for remap, suspension work, or engine mount replaced then? Surely people don't just pay for Dealership premium for a bit of coffee served in a decent china and sofa seating?

That’s a very handsome car!

Many AMG owners use MSL for tuning, however for the GT I would suggest Antony at GAD Tuning who knows the GT well - he owns one - and has a good reputation amongst GT owners.

Alternatively, consider one of the big names like Renntech. The GT C has the same engine and turbo as the GT R so any numbers you see quoted for the GT R will apply to the GT C.

For repairs there are several trusted Mercedes specialists dotted around the country although relatively few GTs will pass through their doors, I don’t know of a GT specialist.

That said a good technician with the right access to Mercedes procedures and systems will be fine working on a GT, they’re unusual but not necessarily any more difficult than any other model.

You mention an engine mount, is there a problem? If you have active engine and transmission mounts then you may find it difficult to source the necessary parts.

Thank you Dazzler. Yes I do have the dynamic pack with the active engine mount. No issues yet, but common sense told me that any clever and complicated design will usually go wrong, like the notorious R230 ABC. So I am just paving myself for the future. Just don't want to pay 3 digits +VAT for the dealer hourly rate to fund their fancy coffee that is all. Thank you for the response and inputs, much obliged!

Not sure how local they are to you but I would recommend Autoclass in Milton Keynes. Very knowledgeable and worth the 80 min round trp for me.
