is it possible to change the merc badge on screen to AMG on a w204 2012 model , ive seen videos on youtube to do this to a w211 model but cant find it for mine and dont want to chance damaging it if not correct

Had a Google and as you say everything refers to w211. There is one post where someone asks about the w204 and he is given the same steps but as you say not worth risk.

Maybe someone else can give you the steps.

You can always ask COMAND to do it if in doubt.
