AMG trackday, gauging intrest

I would think Goodwood would be a place where you wouldn't need to worry about stone chips

It's suitable for any car so long as you engage brain and keep it engaged. It can seem a little undramatic at first but wind on a few more MPH and it'll focus your mind very effectively!

Goodwood has a fantastic vibe and the place has real atmosphere. A cheeky beer in the flying club bar on a summer's evening as the sun goes down is one of the real pleasures of living in Sussex

Marty, The weekend/weekday all the same cost mate, the problem if this day evolves, is actually getting a day booked, as they are getting booked up already, as previously said. If your signed in as a driver, you would be able to go out as a passenger to those who wish to carry you. Re insurance, I,d hope people had realised this already, my thought just assummed it would be knownm theres no individual insurance on the circuit, unless you purchase it yourself, so if you/or anybody else is not happy you would need to look into insuring yourselves with some trackday insurance, I,ve done 8-9 of these things and only insured on the very first time, unless your silly or pushing too hard you,ll be ok. Within the costs I have posted up, the £250 insurance is for the protection of any Goodwood track damage that anyone within our group creates through any accidents or mishaps. My own car has Kleemann headers but still only makes 84DB @4K revs. So most of the forum AMGs should be OK. Regards Rick

count me in please
i like the idea of 5 cars on track and plenty of space
sounds good , excellent plan
date dependant but im hopeful i can fit in
i assume a standard c63 falls within the db limits

Mika thanks for the coffee you brought me at last Bluewater meet. Good to hear of your intrest, had, had you in mind along with various others, to which some have appeared with their intrest, but some to whom I would have thought this sort soiree would be right up their street, have not flagged up any intrest, or to date not seen the post. So thanks for you and all the other guys potentially onboard, a few more, and prehaps we can start discussing a date without losing to many. if it gets to be a goer, its gonna be a great day out. C63 with OEM exhaust, DB level no probs.

Ricky hope you are well
i will prompt a few of the guys-as im sure there would be a few more interested...:thumb:

Great idea Ricky and thanks for taking the time to try and organise it.

I've just looked on google earth and yes it does seem like a fast circuit with not so much abuse on the brakes. You can put me down for a definite I plan by the month so I'm sure I can make it, would a weekday keep the prices down?

Would we be able to do passenger laps in other cars or does that cause problems with insurance. I really hope somethings comes of this it would be a great day and mine will pass all db tests as its only 77db at 3/4 revs.

Marty

Hi Marty very nice video:thumb:

I'm in, 100%, I have a race exhaust with race cats, Kleemann headers and primary cat delete but still think I will be well within the regs, my little BRSCC race escort is outrageously loud but was still under the 105db limit, Lopes, you need to get on this fella!

dvb247, Hi, never met, but very very aware of your super modded E55, good to have yours and the other guys intrest, hoping this builds momentum, and we can get a date booked, it would be a day to look forward to. I also thought Pete would be very much up for this, as well as his mate Gary (Bluewater meet with S65AMG, what a motor!), who not so long back had a TD at Goodwood and loved it, albeit in a BM that day, so hopefully Pete and Gary may appear at some stage. But good to have yourself onboard

I would love to come along and watch - take photos etc.....can't see a diesel being much of a track car.....

I'm provisionally in too, again date dependant

hey ricky . great idea mate . thanks for doing the reaserch for us all .

I think you'd come away with a whole new attitude to your car if you took it round a circuit

I took my 205,000-mile, E300 Diesel automatic non-turbo diesel estate round a coned-off sprint/gymkhana circuit at Santa Pod a couple of years ago. I wasn't slowest (and by quite a large margin) and the car surprised me hugely. I've had a couple of those cars, and driven a few W124 estates in the last few years, but the balance and unflappability of the car was still a revelation

You learn stuff on a circuit you'll never learn on the road

Hi Ricky, Yes I would be really interested in this too, I just let Mika no that I am up for this. I think its a great idea:thumb:

From my very limited track experience I'd say that on novice track days the driver has more influence than the car. So if you have a diesel don't feel excluded, because everyone has something to learn.

Hi guys (got your pm mika) - yes depending on date i would be interested have a couple of stag do's abroad/weddings around that time .... cheers.
