I see the rear wheels of the Merc are still rolling even though he is going sideways. I suspect that its instinct to keep your foot on the throttle thinkling " I'm outta here"
Yup, I got hit just like that by a Portuguese lorry on the M25 that changed lanes without seeing me. Hertz were none too impressed with the body mods to their Focus.
I know of someone who ended up in the same position on the M74 after an elderly lorry driver fell asleep at the wheel and drifted into his lane , catching his rear corner and flipping him into the same position then pushing him along for several hundred yards before coming to and stopping !!!
Saw a similar situation on the Kingston Bridge whilst passing the other way , so these instances must be not so uncommon as all that !
Its good to see the car never flipped over, if it had been a 4x4 it possibly would have with more severe consequences other than brown undies.
Guess any reasonably solid car would do the same. I must add that if the driver was more aware of the truck in his 3/4 he could have avoided that by accelerating away from the truck...
