just seen this,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9855&item=4507579837&rd=1

apparently it has a 19" alloy wheel (just one) from Poland

apparently it is AWSOME too.....

apparently you can COMMAND it to do things ....

apparently the engine is PRODUCIONG (korean??) over 580bhp....

you would think that is someone is trying to sell you something for 125 grand, they would check the spelling first ...... ;)

He certainly has an excellent 'stable' of vehicles for sale. It just seems crazy to buy such an expensive new vehicle from this type of source.

Looks dodgy to me... all those cars with different backgrounds in the photo's and little or no rating.

Buyer beware!!!

If he is dodgy and I do agree it looks that way on first glance it's unusual that the reg numbers are visible on the used cars he's selling.

I am just thinking aloud here and hopefully my thoughts might generate an interesting response.

How can an individual get a new unregistered vehicle and sell it at such a low figure. Clearly he has no dealer infrastructure and probably no after sales type service.

Surely if the car is purchased abroad the individual must become the 'first' owner. I have heard of cars going across to Guernsey and then coming back into the UK with just a 'delivery' mileage, but most of them still have one owner (all be it the manufacturer). The SL65 is way, way below new price, cheaper perhaps than buying it from abroad???? I also wonder how much profit this person is making from these cars?

He has it in a choice of two colours too, black and silver. :( :(

I was just gonna say, the main pic is a black car, but the other two pics are of a silver car, you can tell from the door mirros, and the very top corners of the wheel pic, you can see a tiny bit of silver arch...

Looks suspect to me..

In all fairness he does have a 'main' picture of both SL65's one is black, and the other silver.

This hopefully is the silver one:

I suspect the cars are imports which havn't been registered yet. There is an allowable limit, 14 days I believe.

As long as the car meets EU conformity then warranty isn't a problem.

Hi Dieselman,
I understand what you are saying but the savings on buying abroad are only noticeable on a few specific models and not as significant as what these vehicles are showing.

Plus I assume they would have to be registered when you purchase them from the original dealer? This person would be buying them from a dealer, and they in turn would be making their profit. These cars then have to be shipped over here??

All these observations are made solely to actually ask questions and I am listening to what is being said.

The deal I got when I purchased my vehicle was better than buying from Europe taking into account the part exchange figure I got on my own car. A European E-class at the time of purchase with exactly the same options as the one I purchased was £2000 cheaper. However I could only get Glasses Guide trade price for my own vehicle.

I am certainly not accusing this person of anything, I am merely curious as to where these 'new' vehicles came from?

Regards,
John

More to the point, has the VAT been paid or will the registering owner recieve the bill?

:D :D Excellent point. Quick thinking, but don't you have to pay those horrible people the money at the point of entry??

I think your point is a good 'un

John

When the car is registered with the DVLA you also have to hand in a VAT form together with the license form and pay the VAT. Unless you put it through your company then you only have to supply the DVLA with your VAT number and they add it onto your VAT return that way.

I imported a CLK430 Designo three years ago and sold it to a UK MB Dealer un-registered (I bought it back on a trailer) and they paid the VAT as I hadn't registered it.

Fortunately I made about £3k profit on that car, and put the money towards my CL500. Only profit I’ve ever made on selling a Mercedes!

You have 14 days to declare and pay.

:) I really thought we were getting close, but would the theory still hold water if the vehicle is registered????

His advert states it is unregistered, but..........

The description states:

V5 Registration Document: Present ?????????

What thoughts are there on this please?
