Android Auto - 66plate W176

Hi all,

First post and first Mercedes, so please assume I know nothing about the settings and versions..

I have a 66 plate A Class AMG Line Premium Plus and I noticed I have Apple CarPlay under the Tel menu on the centre screen. I have read certain version can have Android Auto activated but not 100% sure if mine can. I'm expecting to get fobbed off with a dealer so wanted to check if I can tell if mine just requires firmware update and activation.

My setup has the wheel by the armrest and a star/back button next to it. The stereo has number buttons on it and a cd player with Garmin Navigation a sd card slot.

If there is a menu with the version that would help please let me know.

See comand.co.uk - they can do the necessary firmware updates, datacard-updates and coding etc. With the early CarPlay cars they hadn't finished the Android Auto software

I'm guessing if command.co.uk then the main dealer should be able to do it without the need for hardware?

It may need hardware. Depends what is installed.
