One of my dogs has been unwell and whilst on the mend needs a longish course of antibiotics. This particular condition is not covered by insurance (and I am trying not to think about the overall cost) because of a grand **** up on my part but so be it.

So yesterday deeply unimpressed to discover that the Vet was proposing to charge for a three week course £5 per tablet and he needs two per day: £210 plus VAT= £246.

So I asked for a script for the medication and got it here:

http://www.petmeds.co.uk/

£79.80 inclusive of VAT and delivery.

Pet meds are just people meds in different quantities. Occasionally, you can get over-the-counter human meds much cheaper, apparently.

Almost the same happened to me - except the vet price matched the web quote

As they have 2 56 reg RangeRovers I thought they could probably afford it.

On a serious note thanks for the link. I'll pass it on to the boss.

Thanks again,
John

Hope your pooch makes a good recovery and thanks for the link, having two very active hunters my mog meds are going to cost a lot less in future!!

Just showed the wife and 15 year old daughter the stroppy mare link - results were predictable!!

My niece has a scatty cat that is on long term liquid prozac! This is obviously a perscribed drug, but me being me, cannot find it on the petmed site? It is costing my niece a fortune in medication so I am wondering if it might be cheaper to perhaps by this medication from abroad?

Any advice is always wecome.

I have suggested the cat might make a nice Davy Crockett type hat but my niece did not appreciate my sense of humour!

Regards
John
