Has anyone experienced a problem with their alloy wheel anodising ( see picture). Its on my 220d 2019 sports and I noticed it when the car was 18 months old. According to the girl in the main agents, that in her opinion it's the laquer that peeling off that was put on the wheel and would't be covered under warranty? Don't think I'm over impressed with her as I think in a previous life she was a Doctors receptionist!!!

This is quite normal . Totally un acceptable , but normal . What often happens is the owner gets them diamond cut and re lacquered once then has them painted when it happens again. :(

Cheers for that. Bought it from cazoo and think previous owner was a rental firm, so bit surprised why they would do this and only one wheel affected?

Yep I have this on a wheel unfortunately 😔 I think mine diamond cut (2014 E63?) Which are more prone. Annoying.

It's just one wheel now , the rest might follow suit . This one may have been diamond cut and re lacquered due to being damaged , which technically means it can not be re cut again.

The problem is worsened if a Karcher gets anywhere near them.
Yeah good point. I don't use the pressure washer on the wheels.

Lacquer on top of bare metal Vs what layers of powder coat ?
