Another brand massive car event

If you are at a loose end this weekend you might fancy the Citroen international car club event at Harrogate.

As well as regular, but wacky cars, there are vintage, vans and lorries and genuine prototype vehicles there.

All in about 1500+ vehicles booked in + other attractions, including beer.

I skulked along to this yesterday and it is heaving with regular, altered, restored and prototype cars.

Well worth a visit today if you want to see different car technology over the last 90 years.

The prototypes are well worth viewing as you can't normally see them due to being in the Citroen private storage, "La Conservatoire"

One fun activity was driving a Dyane round an auto-test against the clock. Seems easy enough until you realise the steering is reversed.

Prototypes:

CX..Project L

With flat 6 boxer engine.

V4 supercharged 2-stroke DS. Everyone loves DS.

Hmm... No gears..forwards..backwards.

Driverless car. Great for getting home drunk...but what about declaring the driver for speeding fines?

Original DS Decapitable, "La Croisette"

This chap is restoring one so was measuring up the stainless trim fit...with a 10 Euro note...

GS Birotor. A GS with a ****el engine, only 800 made, most bought back and scrapped.

SM prototype. Tested in rallying and did well.

Great pics DM .I wish i lived closer to that so i could have popped along, cracking looking cars there, that 2nd pic of the SM looks awesome.(as do all SM's )

Swansea is no distance, people have come from all over the Europe, and lots of cars and Vans have been driven.

A friend said, the campsite is like a Citroen museum, one side might be a DS, the other an H Van, all been driven there.
