Another crazy designo C43

One of only 5 in the world, we owned one of the other ones (REG : S*** GWL).

The photos don't show it well! I'll dig up some proper designo pics!

I think the colour will becoming wearing and annoying after the novelty wears off

Looks like its got tiptronic too, with the later alloys, so its a 2000 model/spec.
Just love that colour, though the interior is a bit loud, good low miles too.
No Sunroof, folding mirrors, or Parktronic.

I think i could get used to the exterior colour however i don't think i could live with the interior.

I really do love that wood. I think it's the nicest one I've seen.

D.

Edit:

erm I meant the wood, not the car, it's not sold me yet.

We could do with getting the VIN so we can track down the interior trim code.

And then have a poll on whether to 'dissappear' it forever more or keep it... should be split given this thread :D
I meant the trim code for the wood. Not seen any pics of the car as PH is blocked from work but am I to understand the interior colour choice requires an "acquired taste"? ;)

The only thing I would have to replace would be that colour coded steering wheel... It is just too much overrkill.

I think the colour hasperhaps confused the camera and I wonder if it is not so garish in real life?

Sounds like another C43 that's eaten a gearbox? Someone was recently saying to me that they didn't think it was that common, but I can now think of several that I've heard/seen which have suffered - a few on here, a couple for sale (eBay, Pistonheads) and even the 'Mercedes Enthusiast' magazine staff car. Anyone know exactly what goes on these boxes normally?

Shame about the rust on that one there, it looks quite unsightly :(

Hi,
I have it on good authority that though the 43 gearbox is a one off unit and not fitted to any other MB, it is essentially 722.6 box, and is no more unreliable than any other 722.6 box, what makes it allegedly prone to failure is the custom AMG map in the gearbox ECU, together with the propensity of being driven more enthusiatcally as its an AMG.

not heard of many other AMG eating gearboxes .. seems to be a C43 'special'
