Very nice but not at that price Avantgarde : MERCEDES E36 AMG EX M-B MUSEUM

I saw this car at the MBOC Concourse Event a few years ago and chatted with the owner and his wife. It won a prize there.

Stunning car, and only seems to have driven 10,000 miles since 2005.
It has full specification but agree the price a little much. Mind you, I remember it being for sale in 2006 for nearly £22,000 on Merc seller.com.

whats asked and whats offered/got will prob be very different.. seems a lot of people are asking a premium for something not that special/collectible yet , wonder what these high prices cars are actually selling for..

what colour is that?

ok so the shouts are price is a little too much.

So how much would anyone on here pay for it?

I'm telling u this is the best 124 coupe I've ever seen. The only thing that is putting me off is the black interior.

20k all day long for mushroom.

Given its a show piece previously hope the new owner keeps it that way, this is a one for the history books. IMO this car is NOT to be driven.

I adore that car.

If it had been sensible money I would be on my way to the midlands.

What?? For that price and no infrared remote key! :bannana::bannana:

I'm not a big fan of the W124 or S124, but those C124s are perfect.

I don't think there are any better looking coupes than those what Mercedes make.

that is absolutely stunning!

Black over Black and Black over Mushroom would be just as sought after.

I don't understand the not driving bit though.

A lovely car like this should be driven and enjoyed, not wrapped up in a garage and hidden away.

For me the pinnacle was the C126, the facelift 560SEC AMG was as good as it ever got.

They should have built a 500CE though, that would have been outstanding.

IMO:

If the induvidual has already owned a 124 and knows what they are all about then this would be one to purchase and not to drive about. They'll have another for that job.

Only collectors are going to pay this sort of dosh for it i would think. Dont you think? Who would want to pay 20k for this where most people today would rather spend their monies on their 'newer' to them car.

Given its past history, its been a show piece already, the next owner im assuming would want to keep it up. If that was me i would.

I'd just have another 124 in my collection to ride around with while this stays as it is. Some might say its a waste? But for the induvidual concerned maybe not so.

Im not saying dont completey shut it out, once in a while yes maybe, but thats it.

i really like that,

i think its an incredible car and worth close to the asking price, i have seen many e320 convertables for excess of 15k and i bet the coupes drive a lot better!

if i had bags of cash i would think about buying it thats for sure

For close on 90k miles, this car is too leggy to be a £20K car imo... No point not driving it as its already close to 90k miles also.... For that kind of money it would also have to be a widebody for me ....
