Another new project! Mercedes C55 AMG W203

Thank you! 🙏

I was hoping no one would spot the position of the badges 😆
You are right, they're not in the correct places but at some point, the previous owner removed the badges and then the AMG one was added on again but in the wrong place . It should have been put slightly higher and more to the left. As I didn't want to mess about with it just in case there was any imperfections behind the AMG letters, I added the C55 same position as the AMG one
I’m sure it would be fine behind the badges, gentle heat and they’ll come straight off.

Would literally bug the hell out of me 😅

Come on Mr. OCD get the hair dryer out! 😂🤣:)

Hi everyone

The project is all done now.
I took a few photos now that the car had paint correction completed and here is the end results

Lovely job, and great cars too. Well done 👍🏻

Two stunning cars mate. But do you actually drive them after all that hard work. I must say, I’d be very reluctant.

Thank you! 🙏🏻
I drive them but not every day and if the weather is bad, I avoid taking them out as so much work and effort goes to the underside, I feel bad to get it all dirty again.

I did use the C55 yesterday and today I used the S63 for a car meet in the morning and then drove the C55 as it’s gone to have some more work done to it…….. it will all be revealed soon :)

Just checking in to say hi on here, as I was browsing the forum to try and find a heated seat fix for my C55 and realised that a) I spoke to you via eBay last week regarding putting this car on my "C55 Register" and b) I am now double annoyed as I seem to have missed you at MBW on Sunday, but I think I saw your lovely S63!

Hello Max!
Yes we did speak last week regarding the C55 register :)
I realised now as I was reading your thread that it was actually you I spoke to through eBay and the estate C55 was your car.
I was actually explaining to my wife at the meet that someone is trying to find how many C55’s are out there and that the guy I spoke with had a C55 estate. I said, imagine if this C55 belongs to the guy I spoke to!
It was actually you 😆
Shame we didn’t get a chance to meet but I’m sure there will be other meets :)
Thank you. I wanted to bring the C55 as well but I couldn’t find anyone that could drive the other cars

Be nice when it's finished.....you missed a bit.

The valance part below the windscreen should be darker , mine too is dulled and grey (bit like me) , I took it off buffed it up with some black bumper shine, old product I found lying around in the garage.

Didn't last long , gone grey again.

What it needs is someone like you Sam to find the right product for the job and share it with us on here ;).

Sorry to take advantage of your good nature and attention to detail for my own nefarious benefit.

PS. I am only jealous , my C55 is no where near as shiny

Someone on here recently used Gtechniq C4 trim restorer

C4 Permanent Trim Restorer - Gtechniq

I think in the past, I saw someone use C5 ceramic coating as well in another thread. Maybe on the now grey plastic on the top of the wiper arm stud covers.

I can vouch for Gtechniq C4. I put it on about once a year, :thumb: but obviously dependant on usage or if the car is garaged or not.

Well, I thought the car was fully finished and there wouldn’t be any more updates but I just couldn’t live with the interior.
I will admit it that I made a mistake by using a very strong product to clean the seats up as I wasn’t too happy with how they were looking but I actually made them worse 😟

There is a forum member on M3cutters that does a lot of interiors. I’ve seen his work on some very rare/special cars where he’s done a complete colour change and the results have looked amazing. He also restores the seats to as new condition in the original colour and that’s what I did on my C55.

Also, a friend of mine had his seats done three years ago on his M3 and they still look like new and he drives his cars nearly every day.

I am blown away with the results!!!

I dropped the car off last Sunday and yesterday I received these photos of the finished product.

Both front seats got done, all the door cards/door handles, rear seats too, top and bottom part, all the headrests also.

I’m so impressed with the quality of his work that I’m going to get another car done by him.

If anyone would like to get their seats done, just let me know and I’ll forward you his details.

😆

I agree, that part does let it down! I also need to get some plastic covers for the nut that secures the windscreen wiper arms.
It’s one more job I have added to the list :)
I will try what @MrGreedy and @chic0821 mentioned

Thank you! 🙏🏻
Honestly, the photos don’t do the interior justice. I just got home now after picking the car up and before we made our way back I asked for some seat covers as I was too scared to sit inside just in case I put a mark anywhere 😆

It's one of those jobs. Hmmm, maybe I should get the interior tidied a bit. Maybe I can give it a clean, maybe I can live with it.

Profession does the job on leather interior.

Why the heck didn't I get this done before and how did I even think it might not need doing before!

I've been the same with alloys in the past (powder coat). Ok, it's a few chips, I can live with it.
And a couple of scratches.
And the bit in the barrel that's knackered when the oaf changed the tyres and wheel weights last time.
Just get it done Mr Greedy! That's the leason on stuff like this that you look at every time you use the car.
To OCD car nerds like us it can bring real joy and appreciation to the thing.
