Yesterday while reversing onto my drive the engine just stopped before I had completed the manoeuvre and wouldn't start again. Called the recovery company who couldn't get it started and the technician thought it may be the fuel pump so towed it to WDM.
They weren't expecting me and were extremely busy so after reading a few MB club magazines in the waiting room we pushed it (Damn, that steering is heavy with no engine) into the workshop and they also concluded it was the fuel pump. Replacement pump ordered and another wait while it was delivered and fitted, turned key, nothing. They then bench tested the old pump and found it worked, DOH! Another technician came over and joined two wires in the old alarm system (Skorpion) and vroom away it went.
Sorted for the princely sum, of £40.
That alarm system will have to come out.
