Hi

what would the valuation be on my car as is.

i appreciate this is a totally different car to my w124, so please be mature in your responses lol as im looking at realistic current market prices opposed to optimistic...

mine is a 1 owner from new slk200 1998 R reg with 105,000 miles on clock with every single UK option on it at the time except the amg kit.

green black metallic in perfect condition, no dings, and interior is 2 tone black/gray and has been maintained regardless and is now also in as new condition after being tidied up recently.

wheels have no scuffs as i have these treated periodically, and has full Mercedes and specialist service history.

thanks

Do what I did to get a sale price for my car.....look at Parkers price online (you may need to pay to get accurate price), look at Glass's price online (you will need to pay for this) and then look at what the asking prices are on autotrader.....then take a realistic look at what you think is a reasonable price.....Parkers seem to be a bit over optimistic while Glass's either on the button or slightly pessimistic.

You could also get a trade in value from a dealer (pretend to be buying a car) and then add a couple of grand to this figure to get a reasonable value for the car.

A bit of research will get you there....

Here is Parkers price guide....for some reason, I could only see a 230K on thier guide for this year, no other engine options.

Mercedes-Benz SLK (96-04)
1. 230K 2d Auto Change
2. 1998/R Change
3. Mileage: 110,000 miles Change
4. Adjust for mileage and options Change

Selected Options:

Metallic paint
Leather seats
Heated front seats
AMG single piece alloy wheels

Original Priced £33,497
Independent Dealer £6,350
Private Good £5,700
Private Poor £2,815
Part Exchange £4,515

Had a look and I would retail that car at £5995.

Privately I would aim for £4995 as on a car like an SLK, it has to be a big saving to persuade a buyer to buy privately without warranty etc.

i would've thought 4-5k too.

This is as close as I could get with the free Glass's check, a 99s 230K

Part-exchange Price|
Excellent condition|£4420
Average condition| £3940
Below average condition| £3380
