CLS500
Hi folks - as of 2 weeks ago I am a Mercedes owner for he 1st time - pls forgive me as I am a little green... to say the least :)

I have bought a CLS500 (Feb 2006) which is in near showroom condition and comes with a full MB main dealer service history... new tyres... re-finished wheels etc.. TBH nearly not a mark on the car apart from one tiny rust spot on rear wheel arch that I had dealt with 3 days ago... so very very well looked after. I bought it from my bro-in-law who is a doctor - he had had it from brand new £68850.. blimey! I remember when he bought it... Literally £k's of money spent servicing to include the whole of the air suspension replaced. Engine & transmission oil just serviced too... Anyway enough intro blurb - high mileage bargain all the same!

It is the 306 HP version - 7-G Tronic V8... so pls help me - is this vehicle a C219 or a W219? Again I am new to this - sorry!

For 2 weeks (LOL) every single gadget worked on the vehicle!
Went to unlock the car this morning & neither key fob would work...
Gained access with key.

When I turned on the radio - all the stations I had programmed came up but just a fuzz of sound - sounds like antenna not connected. TV was working before but now nothing but fuzz. Telephone & sat-nav all working fine though!

However I can still use the 'blippers' via infra-red if I hold them about 25mm from the driver door handle.

Searched on threads on here this morn - some say 'fuse 8' in boot (antenna booster) could be blown - have checked all fuses in that area - all OK... I saw a few threads on the antenna amp but could not see specifically where it is located? Could a wire have fallen off?

3 days back my local accident repair specialist dealt with the rust spot on a rear wheel arch - did a perfect job - also removed felt stuff from under arch and wire brushed & under-sealed before dealing with the cosmetic on outside............ could the removal of this disturbed cabling or something or is that a complete red-herring?

So calling on the uni-mind to help............ HELP!

Best
M
