Antenna reinstall giving me a headache...r129 SL

I installed a new mast a few months ago on my r129. I took it off yesterday to clean and loosen it as it appeared to be sticking and now I can’t reinstall. The motor is running but I just can’t get it to bite. I’ve installed it before so am pretty puzzled. The teeth face the back of the car, right? Any other tips or ideas?

As far as I recall, it should be facing backwards. You may need to remove the unit from the car and open it up to check for shredded teeth, snapped drive belt or part of the mast drive shearing off and blocking the feed.

Thanks Doodle, how do I get to it? There's a CD player in the boot that's in the way...
