I decided to change all the Discs on my C180 W203, and while I was at it do the antirollbar bushes and links on the rear...Ive done the front no problems...the problem is I cant find them, I have the back end up in the air on sturdy blocks and have looked everywhere..is it possible that this model doesnt have them for some reason...my manual says its there..but its not..Ive only had this car a short while ...Any help is appreciated as its driving me mad...engin type 111951

Can't find what exactly, the anti roll bar that runs from left to right underneath the rear of car ??? I have a C class 203 and be assured there is defiantly an anti roll bar under there. Mine is an AMG so it might be different :dk:

Honestly there isnt one there..I have the drop links also and there is nothing underneath that remotely resembles the drop links..Ive searched everywhere I can think of...Ive seen diagrams of it..watched videos about it...even been on forums in the US and still they say one should be there...but it isnt...and there is nothing to suggest that one was ever there..My heads exploding...lol..

Thank you..I will do that right now..The diagram says its there...so I went to check again...and its not there..so now Its a real head scratcher..I have the car high enough to see everywhere....

Can you see the mounting holes for the Anti roll bar brackets?

Could it be that somebody before you removed it?

You say that you've done the fronts no problem. Out of interest, do you mean that you replaced the anti-roll bar *bushes* on the front? If so, where did you get the bushes? I'm struggling for the CLK (same setup). The original bushes are bonded to the ARB, not available on their own from M-B, and the after market ones (e.g. Polybush etc.) all appear to be for W202/W208 models, even though they typically include the later models in the 'will fit' list.

There is nothing that even resembles one...the drop link would come down to just behind the hub area..and there is absolutely nothing could have been there in the past..Ive been under yet again thinking Im going bonkers with a torch..and I honestly dont see anything at all..the link you gave me shows that the anti roll bar should be fitted...yet the sub frame and hub on my car has nothing that it could be bolted to...on the video`s Ive watched you need to slacken off the tray to get to the anti roll bar bottom link...its not there...Im going insane..Im sure of it..lol...I really wish I had kept my old C280...I rebuilt that car...all new suspension or refurbed etc so I do have a fair knowledge of Mercs...apart from this thing...its now a "THING":(:wallbash:

I got the front bushes from Euro Car Parts... £5-01 each...there was discount code on at the time...they fitted no problem..nice and tight to get on...ps...Mine were not bonded to ARB...

Post a picture or video if you can... Is your car a w203 coupe?
Its a 2002 C180 w203 Avantgard 4 door saloon, engine 111951...Ive been wondering if the subframe has been changed many years ago as its got years of surface rust and grime on it

Those look to be the ones I bought, that don't fit. I guess the front suspension of the CLK must be different from the C class then. Plan B is to get the ARB brackets for a C class from the scrappy. Assuming the bolt spacing on the subframe is the same, I can then fit the C class bushes into C class brackets then bolt then into the chassis. A job for warmer weather, I think.
Thanks,
Ian.

That may work..I wouldnt think that if the spacing was out by very much it wouldnt matter....as long as its not inches out..Ive wondered why they make each class/model so different...money comes into it I suppose..Hope you get sorted...would you like me to measure the centres for you over the weekend so it gives you something to work off before spending your cash... Steve

Steve, if you get a chance, that would be great, thanks.
Mine are 50 mm spacing (roughly, not the most accurate measurement!).
thanks,

I shall get under the car when it warms up a bit more Ian and take the measure...I found the bolts very hard to remove so what I did was give them a good squirt of Plus Gas for a few days beforehand, I had to undo them until they went tight again..then back them off..and repeated doing that until they came out...a bit of a pain but worked in the end, I was tempted to use my impact wrench but was afraid of snapping the bolts...they are quite long...

Ive just been under my car as best I can and the bolt spacings are 50mm as best I can tell as the rear is up on blocks so front space is a little restricted..I completely removed the under engine tray to make it a bit easier with the bolts being so tight
